Can you believe it’s already August? Back in April, our family was looking to purchase a trampoline, but since it would arrive for 6 – 8 weeks, we decided against it. Time sure does fly and I wish we would have made that purchase since we’d be enjoying that trampoline right now!

It seems like time has taken on new meaning right now. Days and weeks seem to blend together, and if you don’t plan to be intentional with your time, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut and lose sight of what really matters.

Today on the podcast, we talk with Bryce Morrow, co-founder/owner of Oregon City Brewing. We invited him to chat with our July Challenge participants as part of our Happy Hour series. Bryce shares how OCB is adapting to brewery life in a pandemic, how their new patio space is helping them keep every safe, some new beer opportunities they have, and a newfound appreciation for their customers. Like all of us, they’re finding ways to be grateful for the many good things in life.

ABOUT OREGON CITY BREWING

All of us were very disappointed that we couldn’t run at OCB on July 25th o f 2020. We totally sold out the event in 2019, but had to cram onto the small, front patio (see above). We were stoked when we learned they had plans for a NEW, humongous back patio, and excited about the potential to host our largest event ever there. Sadly, COVID didn’t allow for that, but we’re glad they have the space now to serve everyone safely.

One of the reasons why this event was such a huge draw, is the community they have cultivated. Oregon City Brewing is all about Family. According to their webite:

The American dream is starting a business in your garage. Then growing out of the garage and transforming a derelict carpet store into a living room for the community. Our goal is to build a multi-generational business where employees & customers are treated like family. Oregon City Brewing Company is a new American brewery, the product of our thriving Oregon craft beer culture, shaped deeply by Oregon City values: community, quality craftsmanship & a spirit of innovation.

We exist for two reasons. To make great craft beer, and to build community in the town we love.

We look forward to running with them in 2021!

Help us Raise $5,000

As part of our summer challenges, we are working with the Oregon Food Bank to help those most impacted by COVID-19. The pandemic has closed most locations where people experience food insecurity typically rely on for meals (schools, community centers, churches, etc). This has created a big gap in the way kids, seniors, and other at-risk populations find food. To respond to this unprecedented need, the Oregon Food Bank has issued the #EmergeStronger Challenge. This is intended to not only meet the current need but also emerge strong once we go back to “normal” whatever that may look like.

We’re working to raise $5,000 for the Oregon Food Bank and we’re REALLY close! $10 provides 30 meals to someone experiencing food insecurity. The need is more profound now than ever!

We don’t care if you’re a runner, walker, or something else. We just care that you’re active! We often have 10 – 15 participants who walk our events!
